Tender Description

The City of Greater Geelong invites tenders to undertake the Mercer Street Bridge Removal and Stormwater Upgrade.

The scope of works consists of two unique parts:
PART 1

It should be noted that a temporary retaining wall will be required to seal the tunnel entrance prior to grouting.

This temporary retaining wall will be constructed from compressed sheet and supported to withstand the pressure from the grouting process. The sheets are to be fixed in such a manner to be remain to protect the grout and EPS to allow external filling to be placed against it up to road level.

It should be noted that a Barwon Water strategic sewer is located within the tunnel and is to be protected at all times during works. The Level of protection required is identified within a GHD Report commissioned by Barwon Water and contained in Appendix D.
