Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Ausgrid requires the contracted services of a company capable of providing demolition, civil and building services associated with the removal of existing buildings and infrastructure at:

- Dudley 33/11 Zone Substation, 40 Burwood Rd Dudley
- Charlestown 33/11 Zone Substation, 6 Robert St Charlestown
- Maitland Central Substation, St Andrews St Maitland
- Raymond Terrace Substation, Camfield Drive Heatherbrae
- Salt Ash Substation, off Oyster Cove Rd Salt Ash.

The successful company is required to provide holistic services including but not limited to, site preparation, demolition, drainage, pavement and ground finishes, fencing and documentation while in control of all aspects of the works engaged as the Principal Contractor.
The scope of the work for this Request for Tenders is more fully detailed in the Part A Specification.

A mandatory pre-tender meeting will be held in Room A1.01 at Ausgrid's Administration Building, 145 Newcastle Road Wallsend, at 10:00am, Friday 22 May 2015. Photos and drawings of all sites will be provided at this meeting. All prospective respondents must attend this meeting.
A maximum of two representatives from each company can be accommodated and prospective respondents must register their intention to attend the pre-tender meeting by telephoning Julie Murphy on (02) 4399-8177 by 4 pm no later than one working day before the meeting.
Tenderers are invited to arrange supplementary site inspections after the tender meeting by making arrangements through the forum.

Please note that all personnel attending any site inspections must as a minimum be wearing:
- long sleeves, (closed front, gusseted sleeve cotton chambray or cotton drill) compliant with AS/NZS 4501 and for live yard have flame retardant properties not inferior to cotton drill. Any synthetic material must match the flame retardant standards of AS 1249 - this requirement is superseded by the need to wear arc-rated clothing from 1 July 2015

- long pants, or overalls (heavy weight or lightweight cotton drill) - this requirement is superseded by the need to wear arc-rated clothing from 1 July 2015
- safety footwear, compliant with AS/NZS 2210.1:2010
- a high visibility vest or overalls (heavy weight or lightweight cotton drill) - this requirement is superseded by the need to wear arc-rated clothing from 1 July 2015
- safety eyewear, compliant with AS/NZS 1337.1
- a safety helmet compliant with AS/NZS 1800:1998
- must have gloves on their person.

Respondents must satisfy the following mandatory criteria:
- attendance at the pre-tender meeting
- tender submitted on time
- experience delivering works of similar complexity in a similar environment
- management systems in place certified to:

Quality System certified to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008
Safety Management System certified to AS 4801:2001
Environmental Management System certified to AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004.
