Provision of an Automated ELISA Platform for the RCH Immunology Laboratory

⁠⁠⁠The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne seeks the provision of an automated enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (“ELISA”) platform for our Immunology Laboratory.

The RCH Immunology Laboratory provides integrated laboratory and clinical services for the diagnosis of immunodeficiency, autoimmune and allergic diseases for patients referred from Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales. The laboratory also receives samples from other states for specialised tests that are not available in other Australian diagnostic laboratories.

The laboratory performs 26 different ELISA tests and is the only diagnostic laboratory in Australasia performing a complex pneumococcal antibody ELISA for 16 pneumococcal serotypes. This assay is required to provide evidence to the National Blood Authority for immunoglobulin treatment required for immunodeficiency disorders.

The laboratory requires a fully integrated automated ELISA platform with the ability to fully process 16 ELISA examinations within a 9 hour working day.
