Tender Description
The SA Pathology Transfusion Medicine Unit is a functional unit of the Haematology Directorate and provides a comprehensive range of both diagnostic and clinical services throughout SA including provision of blood and blood products for acute and chronic medical and surgical patients. The service ensures the safety of these blood and blood products provided for patient’s use through appropriate pre-transfusion testing and monitoring.
The new Royal Adelaide Hospital (new RAH) is scheduled to open in 2016 and will be one of three major trauma centres within the Adelaide metropolitan area, the others being at FMC and Lyell McEwin. As part of the move to the new RAH, two transfusion instruments for that site will be required to be installed prior to its opening.
