Tender Description
Authorised Officers' (AOs) responsibilities cover revenue protection, personal safety and customer service; however, their primary focus is improving fare compliance. They are employed by public transport operators and are authorised (empowered) to undertake statutory enforcement duties by the Secretary of the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR).
In February 2015, the Victorian Ombudsman published the report "Investigation into an incident of alleged excessive force used by authorised officers"
PTV is seeking a suitably qualified Supplier to:
* Review current AO training in Victoria
* Define future training of AOs and develop training guidelines
* Review existing mechanism for investigating AO involved complaints and recommend an appropriate review mechanism, where required
