Tender Details
Tender Description
Shellharbour City Council invites submissions for the development of a Business Case for an Aboriginal Interpretive Centre to be located at Bass Point, Shellharbour NSW. The Business Case will identify through research and consultation a strategy for the Centre's operations and governance once it is established.
The completion of the Business Case is an integral step in the overall process in the development and ultimate construction of a high-quality, sustainable and commercially viable Centre which will generate sustainable employment and genuine career opportunities for Aboriginal community members.
This will include identifying a number of potential funders/partners for the establishment of the Centre through the Commonwealth and State governments and also philanthropic bodies that have an interest in developing Aboriginal community economic advancement.
The construction of the Centre will be substantial and to secure funding for construction, it is important to develop a Business Case which will not only promote the ideal location of the Centre but the benefits to the local Aboriginal community and the broader Australian community.
The development of a business case will be managed overall by the Bass Point Interpretive Centre Steering Committee (BPIC Steering Committee) in close consultation with Shellharbour City Council and Council's Aboriginal Advisory Committee. Through the Community Engagement Strategy community input will be sought for the different options for design, development and operation of the Centre and thereby be informed to the point where they can communicate progress reports to the community.
This approach is designed to achieve the full and active commitment of the Aboriginal community to a high-quality, sustainable and commercially viable Centre that will enrich the experience of those who visit and will be of long-term benefit to local Aboriginal Australians.
This tender closes at 10am on Tuesday 17 March 2015.
