Tender Description

Black Rock Water Reclamation Plant (BRWRP) is Barwon Water's main treatment plant, treating 85% of the region's sewage. The BRWRP includes inlet pumping, screening, secondary treatment, sludge processing and recycled water supply. The inlet to the plant, comprising pumps and a screening building was constructed in 1988 and has been running continually since.

The purposes of the upgrade project at the Black Rock WRP are to: Replace the aging screens with new, more efficient screens to remove solid material from the sewage, much of which in non-biodegradable, in order to prevent interference with downstream treatment processes;
Transport, wash and compact removed screenings into spirotainers for disposal; Lift (pump) the sewage up from the inlet sewer into the new screenings facility, then transport screened effluent to the existing elevated biological treatment tanks; and

Increase the peak throughput volume to meet future projected flows.
