Supply of Inlet Screens for STP006 Brushy Creek Sewerage Treatment Plant
Tender ID: 201771
Tender Details
Tender Description
Request for Quotation The Brushy Creek Sewage Treatment Plant (STP006) is an existing Yarra Valley Water (YVW) sewage treatment plant, at Croydon, in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The plant has a process capacity of approximately 13 megalitres per day (MLD).
In the present arrangement prior to biological treatment, pumped sewage from the Inlet Pump Stations (IPS1 and IPS2) undergoes pre-treatment, by way of a duty only 6mm Meva Step Screen. The screen is housed in a steel structure, referred to as the “screen bath”, and receives sewage from the common IPS rising main. Incoming flows beyond the existing screen capacity will overflow into a second bath channel and bypass the screening stage. Next, screened sewage is split at the inlet splitter box, for distribution to six Extended Aeration (EA) tanks that operate in parallel to provide secondary biological treatment.
Poor capture performance and reliability of the screen and the lack of any redundancy means that the downstream processes (and EA Tanks in particular) are subjected to a build-up of tissue and rags each time the plant experiences screen failure or overflow. These result in increased operational input and maintenance required to process and mechanical equipment (diffusers, diffuser connectors, diffuser dropper arms, dropper arm winches, and sludge pumps), poor aeration performance, process reliability issues, and more frequent and extensive tank maintenance works.
The purpose of this RFQ is to seek a quote for the supply only of new screens, associated dewatering equipment and post-sale services. The provision of the screens will allow others to complete the further design of the screen bath arrangement and once complete an upgrade of the overall aeration system.
