Airservices Australia will release a Request for Tender (RFT5740) to design, supply, install and commission a new IP network, to provide Airservices Australia with a network capable of handling the increasing demands from existing and future systems. This pre-tender brief is provided as advance notice for prospective tenderers. This tender is part of the Aeronautical Data Interchange Network (ADIN) Upgrade Project.
The ADIN is Airservices Australia’s major Internet Protocol (IP) network. It provides telecommunication services for a wide variety of corporate and operational systems, connecting over 70 sites which interface with over 5000 airways, business and external systems.
ADIN was first implemented in September 2002 and still has many of the original pieces of equipment in operation. ADIN is now a mixture of original, end-of-life equipment and newer devices which vary greatly in age and capability. ADIN currently consists of approximately 400 switches and 250 routers, plus the network management systems.
