Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The ROV unit must be capable of operating safely in standard working depths to 600 metres of water and operating in currents to 4 knots. The ROV unit is to be complete with imaging sonar, positioning system and surface GPS system.

The camera (s) will be high resolution, high sensitivity colour with tilt mechanism. A critical component of the ROV unit will be an integral device capable of measuring metal thickness or size to identify wear rates of critical deep sea mooring components. The ROV unit will be supplied with a surface control unit; tether and cable reel and all components will be supplied in rigid waterproof containers.

The ROV is to be delivered to Christmas Island ready for use no later than the end of May 2014. Comprehensive on-site training will be provided between May and June 2014.
