Overview
Health Infrastructure (NSW) is seeking a specialist consultant to assist in developing the equipment scope and performance specifications for industrial laundry equipment prior to engagement with suppliers, as part of the NSW Health Linen Services Project.
Purpose
The NSW Health Linen project will relocate HealthShare NSW's Parramatta Linen Service and expand linen processing and distribution capacity to meet the forecast volume of public hospital linen. The preferred option requires a new, single-site linen processing facility that will meet the projected demand for the Sydney metro area. Site acquisition is required, and the new facility will be developed as either a new development on a parcel of land (greenfield) or the adaptation of an existing industrial warehouse facility (brownfield).
Scope
The scope includes:
- Development of an equipment baseline by process
- Consultation with operation teams to test assumptions
- Documentation of the heat supply strategy, including centralised and distributed plant models
- Coordination with the design consultant on functional layouts
- Development of operator efficiency targets
- Testing and agreeing the strategy with operational subject matter experts
- Development of Performance Specification and Project Scope documentation
- Development of an inventory streamlining strategy
