The Governments of Australia and New Zealand have committed up to AUD 53.3 million to fund RT4D from 2020-21 to 2027-28.
Project Summary
The AANZFTA Implementation Support Program (AISP), implemented through the RT4D Facility, aims to support ASEAN Member States to realise the full benefits of AANZFTA through the provision of capacity-building support and access to technical expertise.
The project 'Development of ASEAN Guidelines on AI-Generated and Digital Trademarks' is approved under the AISP. The project will deliver two in-country hybrid train-the-trainers workshops in Selangor City, Malaysia and Jakarta, Indonesia. The workshops will:
- Introduce the ASEAN Guidelines on AI-Generated and Digital Trademarks to trademark examiners in Malaysia and Indonesia, explaining the analysis, process, scope and intended application of the Guidelines through demonstrative use case
- Build the capacity of a core group of trademark examiners in each country to apply the Guidelines when assessing applications involving AI-generated signs, virtual goods, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and digital asset
- Develop participants’ ability to conduct internal training sessions within their institutions, enabling knowledge to be shared with colleagues and, over time, with external stakeholders such as MSMEs and trademark agent
- Provide practical, scenario-based experience in examining AI-generated and digital trademark applications, including distinctiveness assessment, classification under the Nice system and cross-class similarity between physical and virtual good
RT4D is seeking an Event Organiser to manage all event logistical arrangements for the successful delivery of the two workshops and produce a project impact video.
