1 Integration Support Specialist

⁠⁠⁠Overview

Defence Housing Australia (ACT) is seeking an Integration Support Specialist to fill a hybrid business analysis and hands-on API/ETL development role. The role is responsible for translating business and data requirements into reliable, secure and reusable integration solutions, working across the full delivery lifecycle from discovery, process and data analysis, requirements definition and source-to-target mapping through to pipeline development, testing, deployment, monitoring and operational support.

The Role

The Integration Specialist works closely with business analysts to refine business needs into developer-ready integration requirements. The role jointly documents API user stories, acceptance criteria, functional and non-functional requirements, interface behaviours, payloads, validation rules, error responses, security requirements, dependencies and data mappings. It provides the technical integration perspective needed to ensure requirements are feasible, testable, traceable and sufficiently detailed for developers, testers and support teams. The role also develops and maintains ETL and ELT workflows using approved integration, database and scheduling tools, applying sound engineering, security, data quality and support practices.

The role reports to the Integration Technical Lead. Key stakeholders associated with the role include:

• Integration Tech Lead and Integration Engineers
• Business Analysts
• Architects
• Software Engineers

In line with Defence Housing Australia's strategic objectives, the key responsibilities of the Integration Specialist include:

• Leading discovery activities, workshops and interviews to understand business objectives, operational processes, data needs, pain points and integration constraints
• Analysing current and future-state processes, systems, interfaces and data flows, identifying opportunities to simplify, automate and standardise integration outcomes
