Overview
The Board of Trustees for Awatapu College, Palmerston North, is seeking a suitably qualified Main Contractor to carry out the LSM Block K Access Control, Illuminated Exit Sign, EM Light Fittings and Video Intercom Units works, issued through the Ministry of Education (NZ).
Scope
The proposal is to upgrade the safety and security systems in Block K by installing magnetic electronic door devices to restrict unsupervised student access through designated exit doors. The scope includes:
- Installing magnetic electronic door devices to restrict unsupervised student access through designated exit doors
- Integrating the new door controls with the existing fire alarm and upgraded security alarm systems
- Installing video intercom entry systems at two external doors
- Replacing an emergency exit light
- Providing a new compliant emergency lighting test circuit
All works are to improve student safety, security, and compliance with relevant standards.
Contract Terms and Conditions
Ideally, dependent on Ministry of Education (MoE) funding approval, this work would start as soon as possible after confirmation is provided, however this will be discussed with the successful contractor and school once funding approvals are confirmed.
