Overview
The Adelaide Hills Region Waste Management Authority (AHRWMA) is seeking to procure organics processing services for the receipt, treatment and beneficial reuse of organic material generated through its regional waste management operations.
Objectives
The objective of the procurement is to secure reliable, environmentally responsible and cost-effective processing services that maximise resource recovery outcomes and support AHRWMA's circular economy objectives.
Scope
The scope includes:
- Processing of weedy green organics and street sweepings generated from AHRWMA facilities and services across the region
- Receipt of material currently generated through AHRWMA's Resource Recovery Centres located at Heathfield, Brinkley and Windmill Hill
Total annual volumes are estimated at approximately 4,900 tonnes per annum. This quantity is indicative only and may vary due to seasonal factors, weather conditions, Council programs, operational requirements and future growth.
Contract Terms and Conditions
The procurement will establish a medium-term processing arrangement that provides operational certainty for AHRWMA while supporting sustainable resource recovery and the diversion of organic materials from landfill. Given the geographic distribution of material generation points, AHRWMA may appoint a single processor or multiple processors.
