Bernie Mullane Reserve - Field Infill 1 & 2

⁠⁠⁠Overview

The Hills Shire Council wishes to engage the services of a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to restore the depleted infill to the synthetic playing fields at Bernie Mullane Reserve, Kellyville. The works will prolong the life of the playing surface and ensure the safety and enjoyment of the fields for all users.

Scope

The scope of works includes the following:

Pre-Works

• Undertake pre-start inspection of Fields 1 & 2
• Identify and mark high-wear areas, including penalty spots, goal mouths and centre field zones
• Confirm existing infill depths across the playing surface using calibrated depth gauges
• Establish environmental and access controls for delivery of infill materials

Surface Preparation

• Perform comprehensive mechanical decompaction of existing infill across both fields
• Conduct power grooming/brushing to stand fibres upright and redistribute existing infill
• Remove debris, litter and foreign material from the surface
• Address localised low-infill areas identified during inspection

Infill Installation

• Supply of FieldTurf ProMax infill, or approved equivalent, compatible with the existing system
• Mechanically spread infill across both fields
• Apply additional infill to high-wear locations, including penalty spots, areas behind penalty spots, goalmouth zones, and the centre circle and centre corridor
• Install infill in multiple passes to ensure even distribution
• Brush and work infill into the carpet profile to achieve consistent incorporation

Quality Assurance

• Upon completion, verify average infill depths via independent testing and reporting: Field 1, 32 mm average; Field 2, 32 mm average
• Confirm no excessive infill mounding or migration
• Inspect seams, joins and repaired penalty spot areas for integrity
• Provide a post-works maintenance regime

Contractor Requirements

• Suitably qualified and experienced in synthetic playing field infill restoration works
