Arts and Culture - Art Equipment Grants (AEG)

⁠⁠⁠Overview

The Department of People, Sport and Culture (NT) is offering the Arts Equipment Grants (AEG) to support arts organisations to purchase new equipment used for the production, presentation, promotion and sale of NT art works at arts facilities in the NT.

In assessment, priority may be given to Remote and Very Remote arts organisations and Aboriginal-owned art centres where the equipment will strengthen access, production, presentation or sales capability.

Scope

The scope includes the following examples of equipment that may be purchased under this grant category:

• Arts production equipment (for example, kilns, printing presses, amplifiers) for creating and developing work
• Arts presentation equipment (for example, sound systems, gallery fittings) for displaying work
• Furniture and tools for storage, display or documentation (for example, drawers, display units, stretchers)

Funding

• Up to $10,000 per application, per financial year
• Available to organisations

Eligibility

• Applicants should have no outstanding acquittals or compliance issues with the NT Government
• Any required permissions must be obtained, including Working with Children clearances and Aboriginal cultural permissions if relevant
• If using an Administering Body, the Administering Body must endorse the application before submission

Information Requested

• A clearly defined activity, including what it is, who is involved, and how and when it will be delivered
• A realistic, balanced budget that shows value for money and includes quotes for any expenses over $1,000
• Support material, including CVs or bios, examples of work, and confirmation of involvement from collaborators

How to Apply

Round 1

• Applications open at 8am on 3 August 2026
• Applications close at 2pm on 14 September 2026
• Applications are assessed by the Department
• Notification of outcome from 26 October 2026
• Activity must start after execution of the funding agreement
• Case study report due 3 months after completion of the approved activity

Before you apply

• Read the Arts Grants Program Guidelines to understand the objectives and requirements
• Speak with an Arts Development Officer to confirm eligibility and that the activity suits the grant category
• Submit the application by the deadline, as late applications will not be accepted
