Overview
Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking to engage a Client-Side Project Advisor to support delivery of the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery (TRAG) Building Remediation Project.
About
The Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery is a Council-owned, heritage-listed facility and a key cultural asset within the Toowoomba Region. The gallery plays an important role in delivering cultural, artistic and community outcomes in alignment with Council's strategic objectives.
The building has experienced ongoing condition issues, including water ingress and environmental control failures, which have impacted its ability to safely accommodate the collection and support gallery operations. Following a significant weather event in November 2025, the gallery was closed and the collection relocated to off-site storage.
Purpose
Council has undertaken investigations into the condition of the building and commissioned a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) Study to identify remediation options, associated risks and potential delivery pathways. The project will progress through a staged approach, including design development and construction, to restore the facility to an operational standard that meets gallery and collection requirements.
