Overview
Health NZ invites Registrations of Interest from the open market for Design and Build services for the Domestic Hot Water (DHW) Pipe Replacement Project at Whakatāne Hospital.
Purpose
The existing DHW reticulation system has been identified as a critical plumbing infrastructure risk across the district hospital, requiring remediation to maintain service continuity and compliance with Building Warrant of Fitness requirements. The current DHW pipework has experienced recurring failures, resulting in reactive maintenance, local outages to critical assets, and disruption to clinical services. The project aims to deliver a reliable, maintainable, and resilient hot water system that supports continuous hospital operations in a live acute healthcare environment.
