Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Overview

Timaru District Council (TDC) is seeking a contractor to construct a new bridge over Otipua Creek between Landsborough Road and Coonoor Road.

Purpose

The existing masonry arch bridge is in poor condition with limited remaining life for vehicle traffic, and ongoing maintenance is constrained by its age and heritage status. The current road alignment and intersection geometry also present safety concerns, including restricted visibility and a history of crashes at the site.

Scope

The scope includes:

  • Construction of a new 22.5m long, two-lane bridge on an improved alignment over Otipua Creek
  • Associated road and intersection upgrades
  • Retention of the existing bridge for pedestrian and cycling use
