Civil Construction Works – St George Industrial Subdivision

⁠⁠⁠Overview

Balonne Shire Council invites tenders from suitably qualified tenderers for civil construction works related to the subdivision of industrial land in St George.

Scope

The scope of work of this project includes but is not limited to the following items. Refer to the Issue for Construction (IFC) drawings 22.1003 Rev A for more details.

Earthworks

• Remove existing trees
• Strip all topsoil, vegetation and unsuitable material
• Fill in existing drain and stormwater pit with select fill material
• Proof roll subgrade and replace any soft spots with approved fill material

Road works

• Construct the proposed roads MC01, MC02, MC03 and MC04, as well as the road widening including the BAR/BAL turn treatments at Carnarvon Highway / Cliff Parsons Drive intersection and CHR(s)/BAL turn treatments at Carnarvon Highway / Buchan Bypass / Proposed Airport Road intersection
• Seal the proposed roads and intersections as per the seal design specified on the drawings
• Remove existing signage
• Install road signage and linemarking
• Install M3 kerb in accordance with IPWEA standard drawings
• Install 4m of flush kerb at cul-de-sac
• Install Type B heavy duty vehicle crossing
• Install concrete driveway
• Install table drain
• Install asphalt pavement over new reinforced concrete box culverts (RCBC) to tie into new surface

Drainage

• Remove existing culverts
• Install 1200x300 RCBC and associated structures (MC01 CH10.172)
• Install 1200x300 RCBC and associated structures (MC03)
• Install 2/900x300 RCBC and associated structures (MC02 CH363)
• Install 900x300 RCBC and associated structures (MC02 CH506)
• Install rock scour protection at cul-de-sac drainage outlet
• Install precast sag gully pit to tie into new RCBC invert

Miscellaneous

• Survey and locate any existing utilities
• Install erosion and sediment control measures
• Dispose of waste and unsuitable material at a Balonne Shire Council approved disposal location
• Remove existing telecommunication pit
• Relocate existing power pole
• Reinstate fence in new placement with current style

The construction of water reticulation mains and fittings, sewer gravity main / rising main / pumps and the new toilet block are excluded from the scope of work of this tender.
