The U.S. Embassy, Wellington has a requirement for the supply and delivery of one (1) complete in-line turbidity monitoring system to To Tatou Vai, the Cook Islands Water Authority, in Rarotonga, Cook Islands.

Vendor Q&A

A vendor question has been received regarding the request for quotation, along with the Department's response. This information is shared with all interested vendors to ensure a fair and transparent procurement process.

Question: Could you please advise on the following regarding the in-line turbidity instrument installation? The line size of the pipe into which the in-line turbidity instrument is to be installed, the approximate flow range of the water in that pipe, the pressure in the pipeline, and the expected turbidity range that is required.

Answer:

• Pipeline size: 225 mm OD
• Approximate flow range: 0–15 L/s
• Pipeline pressure: Less than 10 m head (approximately 100 kPa)
• Required turbidity measurement range: 0–200 NTU

Please note: Actual turbidity levels may exceed the 0–200 NTU range noted above. Sufficient historical data is not currently available to determine maximum expected turbidity levels. Vendors should account for this uncertainty when preparing their quotations.
