Request for Quotation Civil Works, Plant, Equipment and Labour 2026/27

Kentish and Latrobe Council invite suitably qualified contractors to submit hourly rates for the provision of civil works services, including plant, equipment hire, operators, labour and associated services for the 2026/27 financial year.

About

Kentish and Latrobe Councils undertake a range of civil works and maintenance activities across both municipal areas. These works may include road maintenance, drainage, footpaths, kerb and channel, stormwater repairs, gravel road works, vegetation clearing, emergency works and other related civil activities. Contractors may be engaged on an as-required basis to supplement internal resources and assist with planned and reactive works.

Purpose

The purpose of this Request for Quotation is to establish an Approved Supplier Register, including a schedule of hourly rates that may be used for civil construction, maintenance, emergency response and minor works as required.

This RFQ does not guarantee any volume of work. Work will be allocated at the discretion of the Director of Assets and Infrastructure or the Director of Operations, based on operational need, availability, suitability, value for money and contractor performance.

Scope

The required services may include, but are not limited to:

• Road construction and maintenance
• Gravel road grading and re-sheeting
• Drainage construction and maintenance
• Culvert installation and replacement
• Kerb and channel works
• Footpath and shared path construction
• Asphalt and bitumen preparation works
• Shoulder maintenance
• Stormwater repairs
• Excavation and trenching
• Material cartage
• Vegetation and roadside clearing
• Emergency response works
• Minor civil construction works
• Traffic management support, where required
• Labour hire for civil works activities utilising council assets

Contractor Requirements

• Contractors must be suitably qualified to provide civil works services, plant, equipment hire, operators and labour
