Tender Description

Overview

Monadelphous is seeking the supply and delivery of an air compressor skid, including a Compressed Air System (CAS), for use at the Brigalow Peaking Power Plant (BPPP).

About

The Brigalow Peaking Power Plant (BPPP) is a hydrogen ready, natural gas power station that will provide firming capacity to support more renewables entering the energy system. The core of the BPPP (the facility) is a nominal 400MW open cycle gas turbine plant, consisting of a compact power station footprint (350m x 150m) inclusive of 12 modular aeroderivative gas turbines, electrical systems up to 33kV, natural gas distribution, and an operations and maintenance facility.

Scope

The scope includes:

  • Supply and delivery of two (2) x 100% duty fully redundant air compressors, capable of automatically maintaining Compressed Air System (CAS) operation in the event of single air compressor failure
  • Provision of a Compressed Air System capable of being operated and controlled from a local control panel and from the plant control system
  • Provision for condensed water from the compressed air system package to drain via gravity to the skid edge boundary, for connection into the nearest oil wastewater drain
  • Two (2) x 100% duty (1 working and 1 standby), air cooled, oil free rotary screw type air compressors, including air compressors with intake filtration, and associated intercoolers, aftercoolers, and oil filters (as applicable)
  • Wet air receiver tanks (1 x 100% duty), if applicable
  • Twin tower regenerative desiccant heatless type air dryers (2 x 100% duty), including coalescing micro filters (2 x 100% duty), service dust filters (2 x 100% duty), moisture traps, and a dew point meter
  • Instrument air receiver tanks (1 x 100% duty)
  • Active and monitoring self-acting pressure reducing valves along with safety relief valves in the instrument air system to maintain system pressure
  • Instrumentation and controls
  • Regulating valve (ON/OFF type) to the service air system, prioritising the instrument air system
  • Service air receiver tank (1 x 100% duty)
  • Overhead roof or container for weather protection for the air compressor package (as applicable)
  • Delivery to site

Location

The BPPP will be located within the Kogan Creek Clean Energy Hub, near the existing Kogan Creek Power Station (KCPS) and Powerlink Banana Bridge Substation. The location is approximately 30km east-southeast of Chinchilla in Queensland's Western Downs region.
