Overview
Kaipara District Council is seeking a contractor for the demolition of the Dargaville Northern Wairoa Hall and associated annex, and the reinstatement of the connected Municipal Chambers Building.
About
The Dargaville Northern Wairoa Hall has been closed for several years following the impact of Cyclone Gabrielle on the already deteriorating building. The 1990s annex part of the building has been issued with an insanitary building notice due to mould levels and deterioration of the building. Moisture infiltration and deterioration of the 1950s Wairoa Hall has been identified as such that remediation of the hall is no longer viable, and it will be demolished together with the annex.
The 1930s Municipal Chambers Building is currently connected to the annex building.
Scope
The scope includes:
- Demolition of the 1950s Wairoa Hall
- Demolition of the 1990s annex building
- Reinstatement work to the exterior of the Municipal Chambers Building, including windows and doors, following demolition
- Construction of new toilets within the Municipal Chambers Building
- Construction of a sound and light lock door within the Municipal Chambers Building
