Construction of Fishway 2 - Petrie Creek Nambour

⁠⁠⁠Overview

Sunshine Coast Council is inviting tenders for the construction of a bespoke rock and concrete lined fishway within Petrie Creek, immediately downstream of the Old Mill Weir, Nambour.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Construction of a rock and concrete lined fishway within Petrie Creek, immediately downstream of the Old Mill Weir, Nambour
• Concrete modifications to the existing weir
• Construction of the fish passageway
• Provision of all materials (other than wall rock and ridge rock supplied by Council), plant and labour to perform all necessary operations required to deliver the scope of works

Contractor Requirements

• Wall rock and ridge rock will be provided by Council from Dulong Quarry at no cost to the successful contractor; the contractor must give a minimum of 48 hours' notice when the rock is required
• Technical oversight and onsite support will be provided by fish passage specialists on behalf of Council, including boulder selection and approval of graded mixes, boulder placement, and concrete lining of the fishway

Contract Terms and Conditions

• This is a lump sum contract
• Anticipated commencement date: early September 2026
• Preferred functional completion date: 30 November 2026
• Due to restrictions on working within the waterway, completion must be achieved prior to 31 December 2026 to avoid impacting the fish migration season

Tender Briefing and Site Inspection

An Information Session will be held on site to allow respondents to fully inform themselves of the site constraints and project requirements.
