Tender Description

Overview

Sunshine Coast Council is inviting tenders from qualified and experienced contractors to undertake resheeting works on selected unsealed roads across the region.

About

Sunshine Coast Council manages approximately 480 km of unsealed roads across the region. Each year, roads selected for resheeting and associated works are identified through engineering assessments and on-site inspections.

Purpose

These maintenance activities aim to ensure the safety of road users, meet defined service levels, and extend the lifespan of the road network.

Scope

The scope includes:

  • Collecting, transporting, and laying 2.5 Grade Maintenance Gravel sourced from Image Flat Quarry at the designated sites listed in Schedule 5, Attachment 1, Service Specification, Appendix 3 Program of Work (POW) Base Data Template
  • Delivery of works across the Program of Work, which includes eleven roads across two zones: Southern Zone, Division 5, and Northern Zone, Division 10
  • Provision, at the contractor's own cost, of work crews, transport and labour, traffic control, materials, plant and equipment, signage and electronic systems, and office and site facilities
  • Transporting spoil and profiling material to a Council-nominated stockpile site, or to an alternative disposal site at Council's expense if directed, using a sustainable approach to material management
  • Acting as Principal Contractor under the WH&S Act and Regulations, managing site safety and trafficability while minimising disruptions

This tender is for a single contract and is not divided into separable portions.

Contractor Requirements

  • Tenderers must be qualified and experienced contractors capable of undertaking resheeting works
  • If subcontractors are proposed, evidence of robust management systems must be included in the tender
  • Traffic control must comply with the Queensland Guide for Temporary Traffic Management (QGTTM), the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (AGTTM), and other relevant standards
  • A detailed program management methodology must be submitted, accounting for public holidays and non-work periods to ensure timely completion

  • Works are scheduled between September and November 2026, with completion required by 13 November 2026
  • The contract is expected to commence on 14 September and conclude by 13 November 2026
