Talbot Street Sewer Main Upgrade

⁠⁠⁠Overview

Timaru District Council is seeking a contractor to replace portions of the aging and undersized existing wastewater pipe network in Geraldine, immediately upstream and downstream of the Waihi River. The new pipes will be installed by open cut trenching, allowing Timaru District Council to meet its specified levels of service and the performance measures set out for this Contract.

Objectives

• Renewed pipeline service life of 100 years
• Minimise environmental impacts
• Protect the health and safety of the community by reducing wastewater overflows
• Maintain the reliability of the wastewater networks
• Comply with relevant statutes and regulations
• Reduce the number of private properties that the wastewater trunk mains are installed within

Scope

The scope includes:

• Replacement of portions of the aging and undersized existing wastewater pipe network in Geraldine, immediately upstream and downstream of the Waihi River
• Installation of new pipes using open cut trenching
