Job details
Data scientists apply advanced analytics techniques and scientific principles to extract valuable information from data for business decision-making, strategic planning and other uses including:
- Strong data science capability, including statistical analysis, machine learning, and advanced analytical techniques applied to large and complex datasets.
- Experience developing detection indicators and predictive models for fraud, compliance, or risk analytics use cases.
- Ability to translate analytical concepts into operational solutions, including working closely with data engineers to productionise models and indicators.
- Strong data exploration and feature engineering skills, with the ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and risk signals in complex data.
- Experience designing robust testing and validation approaches for analytical models, including performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
- Ability to communicate analytical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including through visualisation and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
- Familiarity with SQL and data engineering concepts, enabling effective collaboration in pipeline and data product development.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to align analytical work to operational priorities and decision-making needs.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and delivery focus in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
