Warrumbungle Shire Council is undertaking the Binnaway Test Drilling Program to investigate potential groundwater resources that may contribute to the long-term security and resilience of the Binnaway Water Supply Scheme.

About

Previous hydrogeological investigations have identified several prospective groundwater target formations within the project area, including both shallow and deep sandstone aquifers.

Purpose

The program is intended to validate previously identified groundwater target formations and determine the suitability of identified groundwater resources for future production bore development, supporting the long-term security and resilience of the Binnaway Water Supply Scheme.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Test drilling to validate previously identified groundwater target formations
• Geological logging
• Aquifer testing
• Water quality assessment
• Determination of the suitability of identified groundwater resources for future production bore development
