Tender Description
The Masterton District Council Climate Action Fund is designed to partner with the community to enable projects that respond to climate change and build resilience in the Masterton District. Funding is available for initiatives that reduce emissions, protect our environment, and strengthen our communities.
Masterton District Council will consider applications for projects that:
- benefit the Masterton District
- align with one or more of the following outcomes:
- Emission reduction
- Emission sequestration
- Enhanced resilience
- Water conservation
- Enhanced biodiversity (with climate change benefits)
- Climate innovation
- demonstrate commitment to long-term impact and measurable results.
Funding Available
- Minimum grant: $2,000
- Maximum grant: $50,000
- The fund can cover up to 50% of total project costs.
- Volunteer time can be included in budgets, we recommend valuing it at the living wage.
- The total fund available is $130,000
- Projects must start before 30 June 2027
Who Can Apply
Applications are welcome from:
- iwi, hapū and marae
- community groups
- individuals
- businesses
- social enterprises
- the agriculture sector
Eligible applicants can partner with schools or government organisations, though these organisations cannot apply as lead applicants.
Applications close at 4pm, Friday, 31 July 2026.
