Wath Mine Operations Centre Expansion at Rio Tinto Weipa

⁠⁠⁠Scope of Work

Proposed Scope: The purpose of this project is to expand existing mine site facilities at Weipa to accommodate additional office space and a crib room in response to operational demand.

Inclusions

• Installation of demountable buildings for: 

1. modular 12m x 12m office building
2.   One additional 12m x 6m (fit for purpose) crib room 

• Relocate and repurpose 12m x 3m crib room at current site. Remediation of current electrical deficiency in the building

• 1 - 6m x 3m ablution facilities 

• Connection to existing services (power, water, grey water, internet)

• Integration with existing facilities and access routes.

Exclusions

• Site earthworks preparations

• Upgrade or replacement of existing generators

• IS&T infrastructure and end‑user technology will be delivered outside this contract

Rio Tinto would like to understand from the suppliers;

Whether a hire to buy model is available for:

• New modular buildings; and

• Crib room and ancillary facilities.

Preference will be given to contractors who have experience delivering projects in Far North Queensland, Weipa, Amrun or similarly remote East coast locations
