Caledonian Track Renewal & Associated Facility Upgrade

⁠⁠⁠Overview

The Dunedin City Council (DCC) sought to partner with an experienced supplier to undertake a renewal of the running track at the Caledonian Athletics Facility, as well as provide pricing options for the replacement of other sporting facilities at the site.

About

The Caledonian Athletics Facility is a key regional sport and recreation asset serving Dunedin and the wider Otago region. While primarily an athletics venue, it is also open to the public and supports a broad range of organised and casual users.

Purpose

Renewal of the track facility will ensure its ability to host local, regional, and national athletics events into the future, as well as ensure the facility:

• Remains safe and functional
• Is compliant with relevant standards and retains the current level of certification requirements to host major events
• Is fit for purpose for current and future users

Scope

The scope includes:

• Renewal of the running track at the Caledonian Athletics Facility
• Provision of pricing options for the replacement of other sporting facilities at the Caledonian Athletics Facility
