Tender ID: 617951
Tender Details
Tender Description
Future Generation Joint Venture would like to engage a company with proven experience in Formwork, Reinforcement and Concrete Placement (FRP) Final Lining Works.
Project Description: Webuild, Clough and Lane trading as Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) is a main contractor of Snowy 2.0 EPC Project. The Project is a pumped hydro project that will increase the generation capacity of the Snowy Mountains Scheme by up to 2,200MW and at full capacity will provide approximately 350,000MW/h of energy storage. The project includes all activities associated with the requirements for the Snowy 2.0 Pumped Hydro-electric Scheme.
Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) invites vendors to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Formwork, Reinforcement and Concrete Placement (FRP) Lining Works packages associated with the Snowy 2.0 Project.
This EOI seeks to identify Vendors with proven experience in concrete lining works across underground tunnels, vertical shafts, and surface civil structures. The successful vendor will be required to execute packages at Tantangara, Marica, and Lobs, with estimated start dates ranging from September 2026 through February 2028.
Opportunity Title: Future Generation Joint Venture would like to engage a company with proven experience in Formwork, Reinforcement and Concrete Placement (FRP) Final Lining Works.
The vendor is required to state its interest for the following scope. The vendor will be responsible for allactivities required to construct the final concrete lining works, including but not limited to:
1. Temporary Works
a) Design, certification, installation, operation, and removal of all temporary works, formwork, falsework, climbing systems, and access systems required to execute the works within shafts, tunnels, and surface structures.
b) Submission of all temporary works designs and certification documents to FGJV for review and approval prior to installation.
2. Reinforcement Works
a) Installation, fitting, tying, and completion of reinforcement systems, including both in-situ placement and prefabricated components.
b) The vendor shall clearly identify which reinforcement components are prefabricated off-site versus assembled in-situ
c) Management of reinforcement scheduling, delivery, laydown, and lifting into confined work areas.
3. Embedded Items
a) Installation and integration of all embedded items, including:
i. Water stops (hydrophilic and PVC types)
ii. Penetrations and sleeves for mechanical and electrical services
iii. Sleeves and hoses for consolidation grouting and contact grouting
iv. Joint formers and construction joint termination details
v. Dowels, starters, and couplers for subsequent pours
4. Concrete Works – Underground Environment (Tunnels & Adits)
a) Pumping, placing, vibrating, finishing, curing, and protecting all concrete within confined tunnel environments.
b) Management of concrete delivery logistics, including coordination with batching plants and agitator truck scheduling to avoid delays in narrow headings.
c) Placement methods should accommodate limited access, restricted turning areas, and simultaneous adjacent work fronts.
d) Surface preparation between lifts, including high-pressure water washing, mechanical roughening, laitance removal, and application of bonding agents.
5. Concrete Works – Shaft Environment (Vertical & Inclined Shafts)
a) Execution of final concrete lining in large-diameter vertical shafts (including USS, DSS, and Gate Shafts).
b) Management of vertical concrete placement using tremie pipes, skip and hoist systems, or pump lines suspended within the shaft.
c) Operation of self-climbing formwork systems within shafts, including raising, setting, alignment, and stripping of forms.
d) Management of vertical access for personnel, including man cages, suspended platforms, or ladderway systems compliant with relevant safety standards.
e) Placement and vibration of concrete at depth, addressing challenges of hydrostatic pressure, fall heights, and segregation control.
f) Curing and protection of concrete in high-humidity, limited-ventilation shaft environments.
6. Concrete Works – Surface Environment (Control Buildings, Discharge Channels, Top Chambers)
a) Execution of all surface concrete works for the Upper Operation Building (Control Building) at Tantangara and Talbingo, DG & DS Building, and Gate Shaft Top Chamber.
b) Conventional formwork, reinforcement, and concrete placement for slabs, walls, columns, and foundations.
c) Surface preparation, finishing (power trowel, broom, or exposed aggregate as specified), joint cutting, and curing compound application.
d) Management of external concrete protection against weather extremes, including hot and cold weather concreting protocols.
7. Defect Remediation & Finishing
a) Patching and concrete finishing works, including repairing honeycombs, bug holes, cracks, tie-hole patches, and other surface defects.
b) Application of remedial mortars and surface coatings as specified.
c) Grinding, scabbling, or other surface preparation to achieve specified finish standards.
8. Quality Assurance & Documentation
a) Record keeping, traceability, and QA data capture for each pour cycle, including:
i. Concrete batch ticket verification
ii. Slump, temperature, and air content testing
iii. Reinforcement inspection checklists
iv. Embedded item verification
v. Pour records and as-constructed drawings
b) Non-conformance reporting and corrective action tracking.
9. Logistics, Lifting & Access Management
a) Management of vertical and horizontal access, lifting operations, and material handling within constrained underground and shaft environments.
b) Coordination of crane lifts, telehandler operations, and manual handling in congested headings.
c) Implementation of exclusion zones, lifting plans, and communication protocols for all crane and hoist activities.
10. Coordination & Interfaces
a) Coordination with adjacent work fronts and ongoing interface with FGJV site teams, including:
i. TBM dismantling and enabling works crews
ii. Grouting and water control teams
iii. Mechanical and electrical installation contractors
iv. Survey and conformance teams
b) Participation in daily pre-start meetings, weekly planning sessions, and interface coordination meetings as directed by FGJV.
