Kerbside Recyclables Transport Services 2026–2028

⁠⁠⁠Central Highlands Regional Council (Council) invites suitably qualified and experienced contractors to submit a Tender for the provision of Kerbside Recyclables Transport Services.

The successful contractor will be required to provide bulk road transport of kerbside commingled recyclables from a Council-nominated Loading Point within the Central Highlands Region to a Council-nominated Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) or transfer facility. At commencement, the Loading Point will be the Cleanaway Emerald Depot, 23 Cotton View Road, Emerald QLD 4720.

Tenderers are required to provide all labour, vehicles, trailers, containers, equipment, fuel, licences, insurances and associated resources necessary to safely, lawfully and efficiently transport the material. Services include collection of loaded vehicles or containers, line-haul transport, unloading at the nominated destination, return of empty equipment, provision of weighbridge documentation and monthly reporting.

Tenderers must submit pricing for the following destination scenarios:

• Mackay Transfer Station, Paget QLD

• Sunshine Coast MRF, Bli Bli QLD

• Townsville MRF, Mount Louisa QLD

The contract is anticipated to commence on or about 1 September 2026 and will be for an initial term of one (1) year, with one (1) further one-year extension option available at Council’s sole discretion.

Indicative annual volumes are approximately 930–962 tonnes of commingled recyclables, although volumes are not guaranteed.

Services are to be delivered from the Central Highlands Region, Queensland, with transport provided to the destination nominated by Council. Tenderers must demonstrate relevant experience, suitable transport resources, compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility obligations, and the capability to provide reliable transport services throughout the contract term.
