DPIRD’s expanding drone operations require a Chief Remote Pilot to support operations, emergency response and asset management.
Project goals
As DPIRD’s UAV operations continue to mature, it is appropriate to undertake an open and competitive procurement process to ensure value for money, encourage innovation, and provide all capable suppliers with an equal opportunity to deliver these services.
DPIRD currently has approximately 100 ReOC (Remote Operator Certificate) pilots and 40 Excluded Category pilots operating across the agency. The scale and diversity of these operations require coordinated oversight to ensure consistent standards and safe practices.
The proposed contract term is 2 years, with options to extend for up to an additional two years (2+1+1). This structure provides continuity while allowing flexibility to adapt to future capability needs.
Scope
DPIRD seeks to engage a qualified service provider to deliver Chief Remote Pilot (CRP) and drone management services to support the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of its UAV program.
