Supply of Shearing and Crutching Services

⁠⁠⁠Struan and Kybybolite Research Centres run approximately 5,500 adult sheep and 5,000 lambs between the two centres. It is a requirement for the wellbeing of the sheep to be crutched and shorn throughout the year and the revenue from the wool is a major part of the revenue stream for the Research Centres. 

The objective of this procurement is to engage a suitably qualified and experienced shearing service provider to deliver safe, humane, timely, and efficient shearing of sheep, in accordance with animal welfare standards, workplace health and safety requirements, and operational needs.

The service will support flock health, wool quality outcomes, and overall livestock management while ensuring value for money and minimising operational risk.
