Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to undertake refurbishment, and repair works to existing pool slide assets.

The works are required to restore the slides to a safe, functional, and compliant condition and will include comprehensive surface preparation, repair of damaged or deteriorated sections, and the application of a protective coating system.

The Contractor shall provide all labour, materials, plant, equipment, and supervision necessary to undertake refurbishment and repair works to the pool slide assets. The scope of works includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Undertake a detailed inspection of the slide surfaces to identify areas of damage, coating failure, cracking, or deterioration.

• Carry out mechanical surface preparation of damaged sections to remove all loose, flaking, or degraded coatings and achieve a suitable surface profile equivalent to approximately 60-grit sanding.

• Repair all identified cracks, defects, and damaged sections using appropriate materials and methods to restore surface integrity.

• Clean all slide surfaces, including wash down to remove dust and contaminants, and allow adequate drying prior to coating application.

• Mask and protect all adjacent surfaces and components from overspray or coating contamination.

• Sand all slide surfaces using fine abrasive (approximately 240 grit) to achieve a consistent mechanical key across the entire surface area.

• Prepare surfaces for coating through solvent wiping (acetone) in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.

• Supply and apply the specified coating system, including:

   o One (1) coat of approved primer (Shipshape or equivalent)

   o Two (2) coats of approved colour finish (Northane or equivalent)

   o One (1) coat of approved clear protective finish

• Ensure all coatings are applied strictly in accordance with manufacturer specifications, including surface preparation, environmental conditions, recoat windows, and curing requirements.

• Lightly sand and prepare surfaces between coats as required to ensure adhesion and finish quality.

• Inspect and test completed coated surfaces to ensure a consistent, durable, and defect-free finish has been achieved.

• Maintain a clean and safe worksite at all times throughout the duration of the works.

• Upon completion, undertake full site clean-up and removal of all waste, surplus materials, and equipment in accordance with environmental and regulatory requirements.

• Handover the completed works in a safe, fully operational condition, ready for public use.
