Works 4 Queensland Design and Construct Package

⁠⁠⁠Hinchinbrook Shire Council has secured funding under the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland Program to deliver a package of community infrastructure projects across the Hinchinbrook Shire. The program is intended to enhance public recreational facilities, improve accessibility, support community wellbeing, and provide long-term benefits to residents and visitors through the renewal and development of key public assets.

This Design and Construct Contract encompasses four separable portions located at Borello Park (Lucinda), Merv Whacker Park (Ingham), Leo Park (Trebonne), and Vince Corbett Park (Forrest Beach). The works comprise a combination of planning, community consultation, detailed design, approvals, and construction activities, ranging from playground and park upgrades through to the delivery of new recreational facilities and public amenities.

The Principal seeks to engage a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor to provide a fully integrated Design and Construct service, including all investigations, surveys, stakeholder consultation, approvals, design development, certification, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities necessary to achieve Practical Completion of the Works. The Contractor will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project are delivered in accordance with applicable legislation, Australian Standards, Hinchinbrook Shire Council requirements, funding body requirements, and relevant approval conditions.

The Contractor shall adopt a collaborative approach throughout project delivery, recognising the importance of community infrastructure within the Hinchinbrook region. Emphasis shall be placed on stakeholder engagement, whole-of-life asset considerations, durability, accessibility, safety, environmental management, and operational efficiency to ensure the completed assets provide lasting value to the community.

The overarching objective of this Contract is to deliver fit-for-purpose, sustainable and compliant community infrastructure that enhances recreational opportunities, improves public amenity, and supports the long-term strategic objectives of Hinchinbrook Shire Council and the Works for Queensland Program.
