Gilbert Street Port Hedland Flood Pump Station Upgrades

⁠⁠⁠The West End of Port Hedland frequently experiences flooding due to cyclonic storms and heavy rainfall. Floodwaters from Wilson Street and surrounding areas drain into a catchment adjacent to the existing pump station. As the West End sits below sea level, excess water must be mechanically pumped to Gilbert Street.

The Town of Port Hedland seeks qualified contractors to:

• Repair, replace mechanical screens, steel sections, and structural members of the station

• Install three (3) new flood pumps (including motors, pumps and components supplied by the Principal) along with discharge pipework and associated electrical works.

This project is part-funded by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and must be completed by 02 October 2026.
