Expressions of Interest - Swimming Pool Canteens

⁠⁠⁠The Flinders Ranges Council owns and maintains the Swimming Pools in Quorn and Hawker, as community facilities.

A key function of the Quorn Swimming Pool is a privately leased canteen / kiosk with the Hawker Swimming Pool having potential for a similar business.

Goods provided by the canteen / kiosk are at the discretion of the lessee and may include hot and cold drinks and foods.

Key Directions

In addition to running the canteen / kiosk as a private venture, the lessee will be required to carry out the following tasks on behalf of Council:

• Collect daily gate takings, including season tickets, and complete daily reconciliation and monies
• Maintain records of season ticket holders attendance; and
• Comply with all Public Health Regulations in relation to the serving of food and drinks and cleanliness of area.

Hours are flexible and will be in line with pool opening times, including special / private bookings (if required).

All cooking and food preparation appliances and goods will need to be supplied and maintained by the lessee.

Scope and Intent

The successful lessee will be responsible for:

• Provision of canteen services.
• Additional tasks on behalf of Council, as outlined.
• Flexibility in opening times.
• Completion of a Notification of Food Premises form.

Up to four (4) year lease available with possible extension.

Inspections of the properties are welcome prior to submission.

Submission Requirements

EOIs should demonstrate the businesses proposal and include:

• Business / organisation structure;
• Preferences for location (e.g. Quorn and / or Hawker);
• Ability to run business as well as meet Council obligations.
• Ability to provide service during pool opening season (between October/November – March/April)
• Detailed proposal;
• Copies of all certificates of currency for public liability insurance, workers compensation (WorkCover) and any other relevant statutory insurances.
