Overview
New Zealand Police is seeking to appoint a main contractor to deliver the refurbishment and upgrade of the fire systems serving the Papakura Police Base, including passive fire and specified systems interface. This refurbishment would be undertaken as a design and build project for Police.
Purpose
The main purpose of this work is to upgrade the fire system and remediate fire cells with passive fire solutions to comply with current standards. The fire system is required to be interfaced with the existing HVAC system.
Scope
The scope of works for the main contractor will be fully documented in the tender document, and is expected to include the following construction activities over an approximately 4 to 6 month programme:
- Under a design and build model, replacement of the existing type 2 fire system with an upgraded type 2 system, remediation of all passive fire penetrations, and mechanical connectivity works
- Type 2 fire replacement
- Mechanical works
- Passive fire remediation
- Removal of redundant fire systems
- Associated building works
- As built documentation updated, with all warranties and guarantees handed over to Police for asset management
- Ensuring continuation of ongoing police operations
- Emergency lighting replacement and upgrade
Contractor Requirements
- Capacity, capability, and experience to deliver the required refurbishment works to the Papakura site over the approximately 4 to 6 month programme
