Tender Description
Council has an ongoing requirement to replace and refresh end-user computing devices including laptops, desktops, workstations, tablets, and associated peripherals.
The current main fleet comprises approximately 2,000 devices (laptops/desktops) across Council facilities.
The specification defines Sunshine Coast Council's requirements for PC as a Service (PCaaS) – a comprehensive managed service encompassing the supply, service cost, deployment, support, lifecycle management, and disposal of end user computing devices.
Council seeks to transition from traditional hardware procurement to a fully managed service model where a single supplier assumes end-to-end accountability for Council's computing device fleet.
The PCaaS covers the complete lifecycle of end user computing devices through a single point of contact for:
- Hardware Supply: Provision of enterprise-grade computing devices meeting Council specifications.
- Service Cost: Per-device-per-month fixed operating expenditure.
- Pre-Deployment: Device imaging, configuration, asset tagging, and quality assurance.
- Deployment: Delivery, installation, and user handover services.
- Support & Maintenance: Break/fix, helpdesk, spare pool management, and warranty coordination.
- Lifecycle Management: Proactive refresh, technology currency, and fleet optimisation.
- End of Life: Secure data destruction, environmentally responsible disposal, and asset return.
Council currently uses SCCM task sequence imaging, however, is working towards a Windows Autopilot Deployment. It is anticipated the Windows Autopilot Deployment will commence during the term of the contract, and the successful Supplier would have to either be a Windows Autopilot Deployment Partner or commit to obtaining Partner status at award.
The initial Term of this Contract will be for a period of 4 years with 4 x 12 months extension options.
