SOH-C916E Indoor Technical Providers Panel – Sub-Panel 3: Sound & Audio Visual

⁠⁠⁠Sydney Opera House is seeking responses from suitably experienced, competent, and skilled organisations and/or individuals to provide sound & audio visual services at the House.

The technical services that are required to stage performances at Sydney Opera House are varied, complex, challenging and constantly evolving in response to changes affecting the performing arts sector. The Sydney Opera House Trust (SOHT) are appointing a panel of suitably qualified and experienced technical experts and suppliers to assist in delivering performances at the Opera House.

Established relationships and long-term contracts with a panel of technical experts / suppliers with a diverse range of professional capabilities will ensure that SOHT:

- is able to efficiently access the considerable breadth of skills and knowledge required to meet its demands for diverse technical services;

- has the best qualified suppliers from which to seek quotations in response to specific and clearly defined scopes of work;

- has the best qualified suppliers on standing contracts with terms and conditions agreed, and schedule of rates (where practical);

- avoids overloading a small number of suppliers with too much work; and

- has the ability to obtain competitive market rates for specific events and productions.

Sound & AV Hire Overview

Sound and audio visual hire services at the Sydney Opera House are booked and coordinated either via the S&AV Team or directly by the Production Manager looking after the event. The supply of sound and audio visual equipment is in accordance with the request detailed in the Artist’s Technical Rider.

Currently, SOHT stages up to 2,500 shows per year across its six internal venues. Many of these shows may require sound and audio visual hire due to certain items not being part of the Opera House’s existing installed or deployable inventory.

Suppliers who provide sound and audio visual hires to the SOHT must be very experienced in comparable environments i.e. leading performing arts centres with multiple venues and/or high profile live events. Suppliers must be adept at scaling their equipment and services to suit the requirements of different venue types, uses and sizes.

Suppliers must demonstrate capabilities in efficient logistics management, including transportation, set-up, and the correct distribution of equipment across multiple venues.

• Associated computer, network and processing packages
