Buildings Asset Condition Audit

⁠⁠⁠Mount Alexander Shire Council’s buildings support the delivery of a wide range of community services and activities. Council manages more than 316 buildings and structures across the whole shire. These buildings act as focal points for community life and contribute to the social, cultural and economic development.

There are a high proportion of significant historical and locally iconic buildings across the Shire dating prior to 1900’s that reflect the goldfields heritage and earlier settlements that now constitute the Shire.

Council is required to manage and maintain its buildings in a sustainable manner in accordance with its obligations under the Local Government Act, other relevant Acts, Regulations and Standards on behalf of the Community.

Council is required to provide details of all assets, their condition, valuation and maintenance, renewal and replacement plans. This work will be incorporated in Council’s long and short term planning and financial sustainability modelling. The Consultant shall review the current condition methodology information and make recommendations to ensure Council is meeting the requirements and it has the ability to report accurate information.
