Mount Isa Hospital Block C refurbishment program of works- Stage 1 - external air-conditioning works

⁠⁠⁠North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) is undertaking this procurement to engage a suitably qualified contractor to deliver Stage 1 external air-conditioning works (the project) forming part of the Block C refurbishment program of works at Mount Isa Hospital.

The project has been prioritised in response to the increasing risk of failure of the existing air-conditioning infrastructure servicing Block C, particularly ahead of the 2026 summer period. Failure of the existing systems would present a significant operational risk to hospital services and clinical continuity.

The project comprises the construct-only delivery of new chilled water air-conditioning infrastructure and associated external mechanical services works, including construction of new hardstands, plant platforms, hydraulic infrastructure and staged commissioning activities within an operational hospital environment.

The procurement forms part of a broader staged refurbishment and infrastructure renewal program intended to improve operational resilience, infection control compliance and long-term functionality within the Mount Isa Hospital precinct.
