EXPRESSION OF INTEREST Legal Services

⁠⁠⁠Belyuen Community Government Council (BCGC) invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from appropriately qualified and experienced legal service providers to provide legal services to Council for a period of twelve (12) months.

Council seeks to establish a panel or preferred supplier arrangement for the provision of professional legal services on an as-needs basis across a range of areas relevant to local government operations.

Scope of Services

The successful entity may be requested to provide advice and representation in areas including, but not limited to:

•  Local Government legislation and governance
•  Employment and industrial relations matters
•  Contract and procurement law
•  Property and leasing matters
•  Regulatory and compliance matters
•  Native title and land access issues
•  Litigation and dispute resolution
•  Policy reviews and legal drafting
•  Commercial and corporate legal advice
•  Other general legal services as required

Submission Requirements

Interested entities are requested to submit:

•  Company profile and relevant experience
•  Details of key personnel and qualifications
•  Demonstrated experience working with local government or similar organisations
•  Schedule of fees and hourly charge-out rates for a 12-month period
•  Availability and response timeframes
•  References from at least two recent clients
•  Evidence of current professional indemnity insurance
•  Australian Business Number (ABN) 

Assessment Criteria

Submissions will be assessed against the following criteria:

•  Demonstrated capability and relevant experience
•  Understanding of local government legislative requirements
•  Value for money
•  Availability and responsiveness
•  Qualifications and expertise of personnel
•  Previous performance and references

Contract Period

The engagement will be for an initial period of twelve (12) months commencing from the date of appointment, with the option for Council to extend at its discretion.
