Quilpie Airport Upgrade

⁠⁠⁠Quilpie Shire Council is inviting Tenders from Principal Contractors for the reconstruction and surfacing of the Quilpie Airport Main Runway, Taxiway and Apron and other Ancillary works including a new refueling area within the aerodrome.

Quilpie Shire Council wishes to advise the following arrangements and protocols regarding site inspections and tender clarifications for the above project.

Site Inspection Arrangements

Prospective tenderers are strongly encouraged to undertake a site inspection to familiarise themselves with the project environment, logistics, material sources, and operational constraints associated with this project.

The inspection is expected to include:

• Quilpie Aerodrome and runway site

• Proposed gravel source locations

• Water source locations

• General familiarisation tour of Quilpie township, including accommodation and local services relevant to contractor operations and workforce planning

Council may coordinate a bus/site tour for registered attendees once numbers are confirmed. Tenderers should also consider the operational implications associated with airport closure periods during construction, including workforce travel arrangements via Charleville and other regional transport options.

Flight and travel information previously circulated by Council should be used by tenderers when planning attendance.
