Construction Services for the Short-Term Remediation of the Spalding Swing Bridge

⁠⁠⁠Northern Areas Council (the Council) invites Tenders from Respondents for the provision of Construction Services for the Short-Term Remediation of the Spalding Swing Bridge

The Spalding Swing Bridge is an existing pedestrian suspension bridge across Freshwater Creek in Spalding, SA. Initially constructed in 1925 and upgraded in 1985, the bridge forms part of the Heysen and Mawson Trails and provides the only designated pedestrian connection between the northern and southern sides of Spalding.

Following a Level 2 inspection completed in May 2025, several defects requiring short-term remediation have been identified. This project consists of urgent remediation works intended to maintain the bridge for up to 10 years until decommission and replacement works can be undertaken.
