K'gari Fire Trail Maintenance

⁠⁠⁠The Department of Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development (NRMMRRD) State Land Management Services (SLMS) unit requires a qualified supplier to undertake APZ and fire trail maintenance in accordance with the specifications in the Schedule of Works and Pricing, and the Mapping PDF/Shape files. These documents form part of the Contract. 

Technical Requirements / Scope of work Tasks to be performed

a. The Supplier will be required to undertake all the maintenance works as outlined in the Schedule of Works and Pricing, and the Mapping PDF/Shape files.

b. The Supplier will be required to undertake the number of passes per year identified in the Schedule of Works and Pricing and the Mapping PDF/Shape files. It is the Suppliers responsibility to manage the scheduling of the passes throughout the 12-month period of the contract to ensure that all scheduled works are effectively maintained (for example more frequent passes in high growth periods or scheduling around climatic conditions). The Customer does not guarantee the total amount of maintenance services identified in the Schedule of Works and Pricing. For example, service scheduling requirements may vary due to climatic conditions or other unanticipated scenarios. However, the Customer will take reasonable steps to replace or reschedule any cancelled works with other works during the contract period. The Customer may direct the Supplier to undertake scheduled works at nominated times during the contract term. Suppliers should contact the Customer if they require further direction or advice regarding the timing of the passes.

c. The Supplier will be required to provide adequate reporting of completed works at regular intervals throughout the contract period. Reporting, as a minimum should include before and after photos with relevant comments after each main area run.

d. If sections of fire trails within the shape files are unable to be completed during a dedicated pass, photos and reasoning must be supplied to the project manager to ensure works can be organised to rectify the issue.

Requirements

a. General Requirements

The Supplier will ensure that the height of the grass is a maximum of 100mm from the ground level after being slashed. The supplier is to have a tractor type slasher with a 6ft cut or similar, a suitable mover and brush cutters to ensure all terrains within the shape files can be maintained.

b. Other related associated Services

The supplier may be required to carry out the following services as and when required by the Customer during the contract term:

• Forest Mulching

• Slashing

• Clearing debris (within reason) so the pass can be complete
